Conversations about clinical research

Conversations about clinical research

The Research Lounge was created by patients who contributed to the UKCRF Network Conference held in Nottingham in 2019.

The idea was to provide a relaxed, informal opportunity for researchers, patients and members of the public to discuss ideas and issues in clinical research.

Since June 2019, we’ve been developing the Research Lounge to include a range of opportunities for face-to-face and now online conversations.

The Virtual Lounge

To support the rapid development of clinical research trials for COVID-19 we moved online, setting up the COVID-19 Taskforce and organising a regular programme of Research Lounge conversations online. We are continuing to hold a regular programme of virtual events which are free and open to everyone.

You can find videos of previous Research Lounge discussions on our YouTube channel.

Join conversations about data in research

In March 2022 we started a new series of discussions about using patient data in clinical research. Research InSight is a long-term discussion for the public and researchers to share ideas and discuss issues around data science, the safe and effective use of data and how “big data” is transforming the way research is carried out isn the UK.
