We’re at the forefront of COVID-19 clinical research, identifying new treatments, vaccines and patient care.

There is currently no cure for COVID-19. Our research is making potential treatments and new developments available to our patients now to help save lives.
We are part of national and international research studies to rapidly develop new treatments and to build and share our knowledge of the Coronavirus.
By the end of March 2021, over 10,200 people had taken part in clinical research studies for COVID-19. This included patients, NHS staff and members of the public who came forward to volunteer for vaccine studies. Our research is continuing, adding to the development of new science, knowledge and data about Coronavirus and its impact on our health.
